Seven year olds Libby Molloy and Ethan Fomengia were given the honour of turning

on the lights of Enable Ireland’s first outdoor Christmas tree in Curraheen, Cork.

The tree and lights were kindly donated by Cork City Council to add some Christmas

magic to the seven acre site which now houses a children’s services centre including

hydrotherapy pool and a respite house. Enable Ireland developed the site at a cost of

€7.5m and as it strives to raise a final €250K needed to complete the funding, it is

appealing to the public to remember it when gifting this Christmas by supporting its

‘Win A House Cork’ campaign.

The charity, which provides services to over 13,000 children and adults with

disabilities, is offering one lucky person a once in a lifetime chance to win a 3

bedroom end-of-terrace house in Astra Construction’s Janeville development,

Carrigaline, Co. Cork, valued at €350,000. The winner will also receive a €5,000

voucher sponsored by Right Price Tiles and Wood Flooring and a €5,000 voucher

sponsored by EZ Living Interiors Ltd bringing the total prize value to an incredible

€360,000!

Speaking about the appeal for the public’s support, Enable Ireland Director of

Services Gillian Darrer said “We are extremely grateful for the support we have

received to date for our services in Cork. The services we provide from our centre in

Curraheen are essential to the children and families who rely on them. Completing

the funding for this centre means we can continue to provide our vital therapy and

support services for the next generation of children.”

‘Win A House Cork’ has the support of Deirdre Molloy from Bweeng, Co.Cork whose

daughter Libby attends her local team for regular services and attends Enable

Ireland’s Physical Disability Support Services for her orthopaedic needs. “We are

delighted to help support and raise awareness of this exciting fundraiser. We have

been part of the Enable Ireland family since Libby was 9months old. The work they

do to help children like Libby is absolutely amazing. They go above and beyond and

we, as a family, are very grateful to be a part of it. Without their help Libby wouldn't

be who she is today.”

Speaking at the tree-lighting ceremony, Ethan Fomengia’s mother Annabel from

Ballincollig said" My son receives speech and language services from Enable

Ireland. He is very happy using their services, and the support has had a positive

impact on his upbringing.”

Regional Fundraising Manager Maria Desmond said “A ticket is a perfect Christmas

gift for family at home or abroad – it can be purchased at our offices in Curraheen or

online. We are hoping people all over the country and indeed our diaspora get behind

it. Tickets are available for €100 from www.winahousecork.ie, with the raffle

scheduled to be held just before Easter on Friday, 22nd March 2024.

This unique raffle, supporting a charity, will offer people who are looking to buy their own home

an incredible opportunity to win it! It will also appeal to parents and grandparents

hoping to win a home for their children or grandchildren.”

To enter responsibly, visit the website www.winahousecork.ie. Tickets can also be
