The Good Dairy Company gets a 'kickstart' from Lidl

By Eve Lonergan

Nohoval-based The Good Dairy Company is hitting the shelves of 222 Lidl stores nationwide from today, September 19th.

Selected to participate in Lidl Ireland’s Kickstart Supplier Development Programme, the local company is joining over 100 artisan products from over 45 Irish producers.

Launched in 2021, The Good Dairy Company is the first farmhouse ice cream producer in Cork, whipping up delicious batches of handmade ice cream using milk and cream sourced directly from the family’s own dairy farm.

Commenting on the Kickstart project, Kate O’Driscoll, Supplier Development Manager at Lidl Ireland and Northern Ireland said: ‘This is the culmination of six months of hard work, collaborating with our in-house experts and receiving practical guidance on how to scale production, drive production efficiency, as well as product development, branding and packaging support, allowing these suppliers to optimise this opportunity and scale for success.

‘We’re looking forward to seeing our customers’ responses to these new innovative products.’

The aim of Lidl’s Kickstart Supplier Development Programme is to support the growing Irish agri-food industry. The retailer has invested more than €30 million in supporting over 250 Irish producers through the programme to date.

Already a staple on shelves of local stores, The Good Dairy Company is now available in country-wide Lidl stores for a limited time, while stocks last.

Congratulations to The Good Dairy Company, everyone at The Carrigdhoun wishes them well in this venture!
