Pet Rescues Of The Week

by Nicola Depuis

Welcome to our new column Pet Rescues of the Week sponsored by The Spaw in Douglas – Cork’s only self-service dog wash n’ dry. Every week, we’ll be highlighting different pets around Cork city and county who need new homes. This week we’re featuring dogs from D.A.W.G. (Cork Dog Action Welfare Group). If you’re interested, please contact the rescue organisation mentioned in the pet’s profile and remember: don’t shop, adopt!

Pic Bailey

This is BAILEY.

This beauty with the kind eyes and the big heart is a six year old labrador, and like a typical labrador, she absolutely loves people. Bailey also loves a lot of attention and she’s very friendly and bouncy. She loves to play ball and would benefit from being part of an active family. However, she’s quite strong so would suit a home with children over ten. Bailey is used to being part of a family. She is a loyal and loving girl who loves to give her paw and be by your side. There is no doubt she will make some family very, very happy. If you would like to meet her, please contact Margaret at 085-1251929.

Pic Rocky

This is ROCKY.

Handsome Rocky is an eight year old German Shephard who would best suit a home where he is the only pet. However, he absolutely loves people and is great with children. He is the perfect house guest and a joy to have around. Rocky is happy to do whatever his human is doing whether it’s hanging out watching TV, going for spins in the car or playing a game of football. If you’d like to know more about Rocky, please call 083-1714307

Pic Roxy

This is ROXY.

Roxy is a four year old Staffie who loves to play with people, other dogs and especially cats as she grew up with one. She has a big heart and a big smile to match. Her pet loves are stretching out in front of the fire or sneaking into a bed when she can get away with it. Her pet dislike is being alone for too long. She’s trained on and off the lead and will always come back to you when her name is called. She is house-trained, spayed and looking for love in a new home. If you would like to meet Roxie please call Margaret at 085-1251929

The Spaw – Cork’s only self-service dog wash ‘n’ dry – are letting H.A.R.T. take over The Spaw on Friday 6th December from 12pm to 8pm, and all takings on the day will be given directly to HA.R.T. to help with their fantastic work rescuing and rehabilitating neglected animals. A Wash & Dry, including shampoo and a pet fragrance, costs €15 for one dog or €10 per dog for more than one dog. Everyone will receive a voucher for 25% off their next visit to The Spaw in the New Year and as well as that, all dogs will receive a treat before they leave. So please support this wonderful event and give your pooch a good Christmas pamper while helping a very worthwhile rescue at the same time.
