Cameo Club Meet-Up In Monkstown

Passage West GAA Club Open Evening

Do you have a son or daughter who wants to get involved in sports in his/her local area? Passage West GAA Club is hosting an open evening for any potential new players that would like to know more about their club on Saturday, February 29th from 2pm-5pm. Both trainers and committee members will be present during the open evening to answer any of your queries, and to register any new players. Gourmet Pantry Delivering To Passage West

Passage West Discussion Group Looking For New Admins

The Passage West Discussion Group on Facebook is currently looking for new administrators. This very active group boasts 1,805 members and is a great page to find out more about events in the area. The page also features very interesting photos of Passage West in the past and fantastic up-to-date photography from local residents, including local Francis Stokes, who is capturing the imagination of many with his wonderful photos. Monkstown Golf Club Senior Scratch Cup 2020

The Monkstown Golf Club Senior Scratch Cup 2020, kindly sponsored by Irish Life, will take place on Sunday, May 17th. 36 holes. Shotgun start. Limited to lowest 63 handicaps. Did You Know?

The name Shrove Tuesday comes from the old word 'shriving', which means to listen to someone's sins and forgive them. In Anglo-Saxon times, Christians would go to church on Shrove Tuesday to be 'shriven', absolved of their sins. A bell would be rung to call people to confession, which became known as the ‘Pancake Bell’ and is still rung today.


Passage West Rowing Club Launch New FISA Quad

On Sunday 23rd February at 1pm, The Passage West Rowing Club had a celebration to launch and bless their brand new FISA Quad boat. This boat is the first of its kind for any rowing club in Cork Harbour, opening up a number of new opportunities, including the chance to compete at the World Championships.


Table Quiz For Rochestown Educate Together

A table quiz to raise funds for the Rochestown Educate Together school will be held on Friday, 13th March, upstairs at the Mount Oval Bar from 8pm-11pm. Tickets cost €10 per person, or a table of four for €40. Tickets will be available on the night or you can pre-buy at www.paypal.me/retnspa. Expect a great night out and loads of fantastic spot prizes.


Passage West Maritime Museum Seeks Volunteers

The Passage West Maritime Museum will be reopening for the new season in mid-March, and they are currently seeking new volunteer guides. If you have a few hours to spare on any Saturday or Sunday afternoon, they would appreciate your help. Full training will be given. Lenten Reflections With Sr. Rosari

Lenten Reflection Evenings with Sr. Rosari will begin this Wednesday, 26th February, in the Prayer Room at St Mary’s Church, Passage West, from 8pm-9pm, and will continue each Wednesday night during Lent. The focus of the evenings will be ‘Reflecting On and Praying With the Psalms.’ All are welcome.


Young Adult Helpers Invited To Lourdes

The Diocese of Cork and Ross invites young adults 18-25 to join the pilgrimage to Lourdes as helpers from the 12th to the 17th of June, 2020. As helpers, you will assist with the sick and be involved in the full pilgrimage programme; making time for prayer, sharing in the story of Lourdes, and making new friends. Douglas Youth Cafe Open

The Douglas Youth Cafe will be open every Thursday evening (except public holidays) from 7pm -8.30pm for the young teenage population (12-18) of Cork city and county. They have an open-door policy and welcome young teenagers to join in on the Youth Cafe experience, taking part in games, activities and building friendships. Upcoming outings with the group include a trip to the local fire station, and a trip to the Aldi Foroige Youth Citizenship Awards in Dublin.

Harbour Cycle For Africa Direct
