Writes Jack White
Local poet, Mary Cowhig, is set to launch her first book of poetry, The Mongrel’s Lament. The launch will be held at Carrigaline Library on Tuesday, November 13th at 7pm.
The Mongrel’s Lament is a collection of some of Mary’s best work, all of which has been published in The Carrigdhoun Newspaper over the past two years.
Mary’s work has received wide acclaim and she has grown a huge fan base with her quick witted and often topical poetry in the newspaper each week.
Part proceeds from sales of the book will go to Carrigaline Family Support Centre, Mary’s charity of choice.
The book is produced in conjunction with The Carrigdhoun Newspaper and Carrigaline Union Of Parishes. Special thanks go to Revd. Elaine Murray and the team from the parish who are co-ordinating sales and distribution. Thanks also to Brendan Cotter, Graphic Designer, Constance Roberts, Illustration and KWP Printers.
Books will be on sale for €5 from Carrigaline Bookshop, The Carrigdhoun Newspaper Office, Carrigaline Family Support Centre, at The Carrigaline Christmas Fayre, at the launch night and more locations to be announced soon.
