Local Footgolf player, Jim White (17) from Myrtleville is travelling to Orlando, Florida in May to represent Ireland at the 2023 Footgolf World Cup. Jim, who was the Irish Junior Champion two years running, is currently putting in a lot of training and work in ahead of the campaign.
Jim was part of the Ireland team that won the 4 Nations (Ireland, Scotland, England, Wales) last year, and is hoping to replicate similar success on the world stage this Summer.
He is set to be one of the youngest players taking part at the World Cup, which will have 40 adult teams competing.
Unfortunately, Footgolf is not yet a sport that generates a lot of money, and so it is down to the players themselves to pay for most of their expenses. Jim says, “I am looking for donations to help fund my trip to Orlando. Any donations would be greatly appreciated, and they would make a huge difference”.
Jim says that if any local businesses would like to sponsor him, he would be delighted and can be contacted on email: jimgeorgewhite@icloud.com
Jim thanked Ian O Driscoll of Footgolf Cork, in Kinsale for all his support over the last couple of years.
Footgolf is growing in popularity in Ireland and is the perfect fit for those who love the physical and competitive aspects of both football and Golf.
