Kieran Murphy who is a student in Colaiste Muire, Crosshaven, will be having his first solo art exhibition at the age of 16 in Camden Fort Meagher on the weekend of August 13th & 14th. He is a former pupil of Mary Murphy artist, Carrigaline and would have taken part in a shared exhibition in the Pigs Back, Douglas when he was 13.

Before he ever did an exhibition, he used his art to raise awareness & funds to help prevent an incinerator coming to Cork harbour by painting & selling stones with the “gas mask girl” on them.

He entered one of his pieces of art into the Zurich Young Portrait competition in 2020 and also in RTE’s album cover design competition for the Cranberries album in aid of Pieta.

One of his paintings of Templebreedy Church is hanging in the Taoiseach’s office. During covid restrictions Kieran was very lucky to have the late Colm O’Connell ex 103FM act as his mentor, commissioning several pieces for himself and as gifts for friends.

Kieran is so excited about the upcoming event and is looking forward to welcoming family and friends to come view some of the work that he has produced to date.
