Hurley's say farewell to Kilmoney Stores after 30 years

Writer: Online JournalistOnline Journalist

Kilmoney Stores first opened 30 years ago by Brian Hurley, his parents Kevin and Kathleen, and uncle Donal O’Sullivan and has continued to be a family affair with Brian’s wife Kitty, children Shane and Eimear and Brians niece & nephew offering a helping hand over the years.

The Hurley’s have seen Kilmoney transform from green fields into a buzzing residential area and thanked all their customers, neighbours  and the wider community for their support over the last 3 decades, and will fondly remember all the children who came in for 50c bags of jellies who in turn, came in with their own children.

The family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff- past, present, and deceased for their hard work and commitment, they said they couldn’t have done it without their support, as well as their independent suppliers and Musgraves Daybreak Group.

As they close this chapter, they are looking forward to a well-deserved break and time with family.

Hurley’s Kilmoney Stores will officially close on Tuesday 18th of March, at 2pm to accommodate the handover to Billy Down who will continue operations as Centra, Carrigaline and Brian and Kitty would like to wish him well going forward.
