FootPOD Opens In Carrigaline

About Us

FootPOD Podiatry Clinic Cork is Carrigalines newest local Podiatry/Chiropody Clinic. We are located at The Bridge Medical Practice on the ground floor in the Carrigaline Primary Care Centre. Our Podiatrists are both registered with the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists of Ireland and have a wealth of experience working in the HSE and NHS. We aim to provide you with safe efficient quality care at affordable prices. Services we can offer you include:

Our Team

David Shovlin

David qualified in 2013 with a degree in Podiatric Medicine and has since completed a MSc in Diabetes. Originally from Donegal, David has lived in Cork for 2 years and is currently working for the HSE South educating high-risk patients aiming to prevent lower limb amputations and ulceration.

He has previously worked in a private clinic and for the NHS in the UK. David is currently a member of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists of Ireland and is also registered with the Health and Care Professions Council in the UK. His main interest is treating patients with diabetes and educating them on foot care. He also has an interest in completing nail surgery, routine foot care and prescribing foot orthotics.

David enjoys playing golf and football in his spare time. He recently won the FAI intermediate cup in the Aviva stadium with local club Avondale United FC.

Eoin O’Farrell

Eoin graduated for the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2014 with a BSc in Podiatric Medicine. Eoin is from Cork and has worked in private, community and hospital based podiatry clinics over the last 5 years.

Eoin’s main interest is the diabetic foot. He previously worked in the diabetic foot clinic at Cork University Hospital. He now works mainly in trying to prevent high risk patients from developing foot ulcerations and lower limb amputations in the HSE South. He has a keen interest in lower limb biomechanics and foot injuries. He has experience prescribing foot orthotics, nails surgery and acupuncture.

Eoin is heavy involved in the Blackrock National Hurling Club and also enjoys triathlons, rowing and golf. He rowed the Atlantic Ocean in 2017 with the Relentless Rowers in the Talisker Whiskey Atlantic Challenge.
