University College Cork upheld an age old tradition on Thursday afternoon, by bringing the Fitzgibbon Cup to the grave of tournament founder Brother Edwin Fitzgibbon at St Francis College, Rochestown.
The College captured their 29th title earlier this month, in a 0-18 to 2-11 victory over IT Carlow at the DCU Sportsground.
As is tradition, once the trophy is won by UCC, any past pupils of St. Francis College on the panel will bring the trophy to the grave of Brother Fitzgibbon, who founded the competition in 1912.
Pictured this year at the grave are past pupils John O’Sullivan, David Griffin and Shane Kingston in their UCC gear.
