Cogan’s Corner in Carrigaline has gone for auction following the settlement of a legal case.
The bidding price begins at €195,000, with potential buyers able to apply for permission for redevelopment.
Cogans Corner has remained in long-term dereliction and has been an eye-sore for local residents.
The property had been considered dangerous by local councillors and incidents have occurred of falling roof slates.
Cllr. Jack White said "This will finally end the dereliction and hopefully provided much needed town centre housing."
