Carrigaline Garda Station to Reopen to the public

Following a social media campaign, An Garda Síochána Cork Division have completed a review of the opening hours of Carrigaline Garda Station.

The station will now be operating within both fixed and flexible opening hours in order to provide further service to the community of the greater Carrigaline catchment area.

Every Tuesday 12:00-14:00

Every Thursday 12:00-14:00

Every Second Sunday 11:00-14:00

As well as these fixed hours, the Carrigaline Garda Station will be open two evenings a week between 17:00-19:00.

The opening days will be advertised locally a week in advance. The Togher Garda Station is the nearest Garda Station providing a 24hour service and can be visited by anyone in the area who may need to speak with Gardaí outside of these opening hours.

Opening hours of Garda Stations are publically available in the Station Directory on the website of An Garda Síochána: Station Directory - Garda. Members of the public visiting the Carrigaline Garda Station can also scan the QR code right outside the station to be redirected to an email address containing the contact information of their local Sergeant's office.

Anyone who chooses to get in touch with their local Gardaí via email will be contacted as soon as possible within 24 hours.

It is important to keep in mind that the 'opening hours' of Garda stations is not equivalent to the availability of Gardaí patrolling in the community. Outside of these hours, members of An Garda Síochána continue to operate from these Garda Stations, are on patrol in their local communities, are involved in community engagement and investigations and are available to respond to assist the public. An Garda Síochána wish to provide the best service to the Carrigaline area and the provision of a mobile response service is our priority.

Where a member of the public needs to speak with their local Gardaí, contact with their local Gardaí can be made through the Garda District Headquarters, which are open 24hours and are identified on the Stations Directory section of the Garda Website.

In emergency situations such as crime in progress or urgent Garda assistance is required, Members of the public should always contact 999/112. An Garda Síochána operates a Regional Control Room strategy, which ensures that Garda resources are available to respond to calls for service from the public. GardaSAFE, An Garda Síochána’s 21st century Control Room system is fully operation across all 4 Garda Regions, and efficiently and effectively deals with all calls for service by the public.
