CARRIGALINE BASKETBALL COACH RECOGNISED WITH COMMUNITY SPIRIT AWARD


 

A Special Needs Assistant who dedicates much of her free time to coaching the local youth basketball team has been recognised for her commitment to helping others.


Elaine Curtin, U13 Carrigaline Basketball Club coach, is the most recent recipient of the monthly Cork International Hotel Community Spirit Awards. Her dedication and attention to the boys team were acknowledged.

Her encouraging words and selfless nature sees her giving extra help and time to any of the team that need additional assistance. She teaches her team about working together to achieve results. 

Elaine’s dedication to ensuring that the boys work to their best potential was commended with her motivation and leadership skills inspiring the team everyday, setting a positive example. 


The Community Spirit Awards recognise people who tirelessly give their time and dedication to the benefit of others.


General Manager of the Cork International Hotel, Eoghan Murphy said; “Elaine’s dedication to the U13 Carrigaline Basketball team is exemplary. She goes above and beyond to ensure the team is working as one and motivated. She sets a wonderful example to the team. This award recognises those who give their best to their community to make it a better place and Elaine does just that. I’d like to congratulate Elaine on her award and wish her and the Carrigaline Basketball club the very best of luck in the future.”


The judging panel for the Community Spirit Awards are made up of a mixture of representatives from the public and private sector within the community.
