Minister for Transport Darragh O’Brien, Minister of State Seán Canney and Minister of State Jerry Buttimer today announced an investment programme of €713 million for regional and local roads in 2025. This represents an overall increase of over 8% in funding this year for road and safety improvements on the vast interconnected regional and local road network.
€94 Million has been set aside for Cork roads with €82,838,900 for Cork County Council and a further €11,762,000 for Cork City Council.
Along with these, the Area Office in Carrigaline will take a share of the over €60 million allocated for Restoration Improvement, Restoration Maintenance, Discretionary Grants and other funds. This will be used for local projects across the Carrigaline Municipal District.

Over €94 Million will be coming to Cork between projects in Cork County and Cork City.
“As Minister with responsibility for Rural Transport, I know just how important it is that we continue to invest in our rural road network. Cllr Jack White, Cllr. Una McCarthy and I have worked hard to ensure the Carrigaline Municipal District receives a strong allocation.
The following projects have been declared a priority for Carrigaline Muncipal District.
